Advanced Course
The reason why the NWU wishes to offer the course is to meet the ever increasing demand for Powerpoint skills in the workplace. The presentation of ideas, proposals and other sessions in organizations have, in most cases become electronic. PowerPoint is a very good tool to do these presentations in. It is therefore necessary to train individuals on how to use this tool / program in this information and technology day and age. There are, however, different levels on which they can be trained for this. The aim of this short course is to be able to use PowerPoint as optimally as possible

Purpose of the course:

This short course aims to equip participants with the skills necessary to optimally make use of a PowerPoint for any organization, including aspects such as shapes, themes and templates.

Admission requirements:

Admission requirements: 
NQF level 4
Learning assumed to be in place: 
NQF level 4, Introduction to computer literacy, Introduction to Powerpoint, Powerpoint (Intermediate).

Assessment Criteria

  After completion of this course, participants will: Participant will be assessed on the following criteria:
  1. Create and use professional PowerPoint presentations.
  1. Use shapes and SmartArt in a presentation;
  2. Use themes and templates in a presentation;
  3. Create and use professional PowerPoint presentations.


Assignments and participation
Method of assessment: 
Learning objectives will be accomplished through the successful completion of assignments and participation in short course activities, proving insight into the topics at hand.
