This course provides the opportunity to participants to learn to communicate in Spanish at a beginner/elementary level.

Purpose of the course:

To develop listening, speaking, reading and writing skills in Spanish at a beginner/elementary level.

None, but prospective participants should note the learning assumed to be in place.
Learning assumed to be in place: 
Typically, participants should have completed their secondary school education.

  After completion of this course, participants will: Participant will be assessed on the following criteria:
  • Listen to and comprehend a Spanish speaker at an elementary level
  • Speak Spanish at an elementary level of accuracy and fluency
  • Read and comprehend elementary Spanish texts
  • write elementary texts in Spanish
 
  • Participants are able to comprehend a Spanish speaker at an elementary level
  • Participants are able to take part in an conversation in Spanish at an elementary level
  • Participants are able to answer comprehension questions on an elementary level text
  • Participants are able to write elementary level texts in Spanish at an acceptable level of accuracy
 

 

Assessment: 
No official assessment since it is a participation course.
Method of assessment: 
Class tests are written during the course.
