Short Learning Programme
The SLP is generally structured around the event plan: research, feasibility, venue/design, vision/mission, objectives, HR and audience profile. Participants will be introduced to and develop an appreciation for some of the key areas involved in planning a successful event. In addition participants are encouraged to take a critical approach to planning by reflecting on work experience, events they have seen, literature they have read and challenging the accepted wisdom on event planning.
Participants will gain basic knowledge of the elements associated with the planning and management of an event, namely marketing, financial, operational and logistical aspects and be able to incorporate these elements in a proposal for a specific event. They will be able to explain the process of implementing and managing the event proposal.
